Mission and Purpose

Gospelr is a ministry-microblogging service (like Twitter) for the Christian Community.

Built on a super lightweight PHP and MySQL architecture, the purpose is to provide an effective communication medium for sharing thoughts, ideas, words of encouragement, prayer requests, daily scripture readings/devotionals, and more to friends, staff, ministries, family, and others.

"Gospeler" or "Gospelr"?

A "gospeler" is one who shares (or reads or sings) the gospel of Jesus Christ. A "gospelr" is the exact same thing but one who does it on the world wide web.

Ok...! So...

A "gospelr" is someone who loves Jesus and who also enjoys using web technology to:

  • Spread the Good News of Jesus Christ
  • Encourage others through community and communication
  • Keep friends, staff, ministries, family, and others updated through microblogging
  • Innovate and collaborate with others to discuss and brainstorm how we can best use web technology effectively for His Kingdom.

Gospelr & Twitter Integration

Yes. We are Twitter-Integrated (Thanks to them for letting us have source parameter perms!)

You can both read tweets from your Twitter friends here on Gospelr as well as have anything posted here on Gospelr tweeted back onto Twitter! (Whew. Yes, we are very happy that you do not have to update twice...)

You can turn it off and on at any time via your settings.

You can directly reply to your twitter friends by using the % instead of the @.

For example:

  • If you typed (on gospelr) "@human3rror" you would message human3rror on gospelr
  • If you typed (on gospelr) "%human3rror" you would message human3rror on twitter
  • If you typed (on gospelr) "!human3rror" you would send a private message on gospelr

So... What Can I Do on Gospelr?

Great question. Go here to read the more about the cool features that are built in.
